Circumstances of death: "This believed to be 61 year old male Iraqi civilian was a detainee of the U.S. Armed Forces at the Detention Central Collection Facility, Tikrit, Iraq when he was discovered deceased in his bed... The decedent reported a medical history of diabetes and renal disease at the time of his capture." Opinion of the medical examiner: This believed to be 61 year old Iraqi male died from atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease. The mechanism of death is often cardiac arrhythmia secondary to the diseased myocardium and conduction system. The presence of systemic atherosclerosis and the marked renal changes, including renal atrophy, is suggestive of the decedent having diabetes mellitus. The manner of death is natural."

This document contains the medical records from numerous detainees during April and March of 2003. The records are not separated to distinguish from one patient to another. However, the records cover the medical treatment of numerous Iraqi Enemy Prisoners of War (EPWs) and civilians for war-type injuries, i.e. blast effects, gunshot wounds, shrapnel, etc. and for common, non-trauma related medical ailments. The records require a close reading to be able to distinguish between one patient to another.
