This document is a series of emails discussing whether Department of Defense interrogators can force detainees to disrobe. A NYTimes article reported that this was the case, but the officials included in the email dispute this, mentioning that it is not included in the "A through X" memo.

I would only add that I have never been aware of DOD requesting approval for that technique. Likewise the
Concept of disrobing detainees has never even been part of the GTMO rumor mill to myknbvyledge.

.According to the NY Times, I 'testified yesterday that the DoD guidelines permit
detainees at GTMO to be "forced to disrobe': (I assume that means they can be stripped) for
interrogation. The DoD memo of 4116/03 does not appear to authorize that. Are yOu aware Of any
other memo that is out there that does? '
