CID Detachment in Iraq is currently investigating the death of Mr. Abed Hamed
Mowhoush; AI-Mohalowi tribe, a Major General in the former Iraqi Regime. Mr. Mowhoush
was captured on November 10, 2003 by a U.S. Army unit. He died on November 26, 2003,
while in U.S. Army custody. Our preliminary investigation indicates members of your agency,
while not present on November 26, 2003, were given access to Mr. Mowhoush for the purpose of
interrogation during his captivity, specifically on November 24th and 25th 2003. .
I am requesting your assistance in investigating Mr. Mowhoush's death. I am requesting
assistance in identifying and interviewing the members of your agency who had contact with Mr.
Mowhoush to determine what knowledge they have of the treatment he received during his
captivity, and what other agencies, aside from the U.S. Army, were granted access to Mr.
Mowhoush.
