B6, B7(A), B7(C) Dear
.I
This is an interim response to your letter of September 23 (and your follow-up inquiry of October 23) requesting information regarding the six individuals detained earlier this year in Sarajevo. As noted in my previous letter to you of August 14, 1 am not in a position to address the particular circumstances of the detention or the activities that led to the detention of any of the individuals in Guantanamo, but can assure you that the United States is treating these individuals humanely and in a manner consistent with the principles of the Third Geneva Convention of 1949. However, we have forwarded your recent inquiries to authorities in Washington for their action and decision.
As to your suggestion for a meeting with Embassy representatives to discuss the Human Rights Chamber decision of October 11, this is a decision which affects the BiH government and therefore you need to take this up directly with BiH authorities.
As my Embassy receives any further information, we will forward it to you as quickly as possible.
Sincerely,
Clifford G. Bond
