- I spoke with at DoD today about the advice-of-rights issue at by
GITMO. He began by saying there would not be any fundamental change in the b7c;
position we have agreed to re: Miranda warnings (i.e., no warnings). He did
say, however, that "some within DoD" have recommended a truncated advisement
that the detainee did not have to talk to the investigators if he didn't want
to. Obv"s was a veil ed reference to the joint JAG memo to the
DoD-GC. did not seem too enamored of the idea himself, but inade it
