The detainee stated that he was transferred to Camp Delta from Kandahar, Afghanistan and claimed that while in Kandahar he was threatened by the U.S. investigator with an AK 47 assault rifle. He complained of pain in his right leg. He also provided some information on the uprising in the camp on July 19-20, 2002, claiming it was retaliation for a guard supposedly dropping the Koran (Quran).

The Camp Delta detainee uprising which occurred on or about 19-20 July 2002, was started when one detainee claimed that a guard dropped a Koran. In actuality the detainee dropped the Koran and then blamed the guard. Many other detainees reacted to this claim and this initiated the uprising.
