Interviewee was a detainee at AG on or around December 2003.
The detainee stated that "[w]hen I arrived, I was handcuffed and had a sandbag over my head." The detainee continued, "the treatment at Abu Ghraib was not bad and I was never hit in Abu Ghraib. The bad treatment began from the time I was captured until I arrived at Abu Ghraib." "[O]ne time at Abu Ghraib, I was made to walk without shoes over rocks from my cell to another place and I had my hands tied behind me. Another time I had my hands tied behind my back and the person would run with me and hit my head against the wall....Another time in the bathroom, he hit me on my head and while another guy (I don't know who) held my hands. My head was dizzy from the hits for three days. I thought I was going to die... I was made to take a cold shower with my suit while my hands were tied. I was tied to a window."

Also, stated that the group that captured him/her was wearing civilian clothes. When I was captured, I was interrogated by an American and an Iraqi. The detainee was unable to identify anyone because he/she had a sandbag over his/her head. The American hit me, but the Iraqi hit me more."

I was transferred to the Abu Ghraib facility•on or around 17 December 2003. When.I.arrived, I was handcuffed and had a
sandbag over my head. I was interrogated three days after I arrived. Lwas questioned on 'hew I had artivedat AbaChraib. I

answered how I arrived by telling them my story. My story was not that complicated, I was accused of warking.withSADDAM

HUSSEIN. I told them I wasn't working with SADDAM HUSSEIN but they kept insisting I was. The interrogatorstold me l
had to talk. I told them I was a General and it was a shame if one had to lie, My military honor does not allow me to Ile. I don't
recall how many times 1 was interrogated. I was interrogated by an individual witha beard. .. o not know.hissuune. .Meis
white, long and tall abort 45-50 years •old. Another guy was Arabic who told inehe.was.fro etreatment at Abu
Ghraib was not bad and I was never hit in Abu Ghraib. The bad treatment began.from -the time w aplureduntill arrived at
Abu Ghraib. The group that captured me did not want to know the truth. They called themselves intelligeneeperaonneland tell
us they are from the American Coalition Forces to scare us. They were wearing civilian clothes but no fled vest-or helmets.
They came in their ears (BMW, NISSAN Truck, and other cars) and With guns. They puled all the women out aaxl -tlxry.entered
the house. They looted the house. They steal gold. money. and cars. My son and I were taicenaway quickly. My .tion Wasaitting
in the garden and was not at fault. When I was captured, I was interrogated by an American and an Iraqi. 1 do .noti:now What
they looked like because I had a bag over my head. The American hit _me but theiraqi -hit me more. Most of the time they wok

After I told him, no one touched me.I • as very kind and gave me cigarettes. I asked why they hit me. The first .15.4ays I arrived were very difficult. I was pleerai : .. hit.
