One officer concludes that the Marine they are looking for is located, but that the photo initiating the investigation was a staged photo by willing Iraqi interpreters and not a case of detainee abuse on the part of this Marine.

stated that HQMC was already onto this issue, but the internal preliminary inquiry
determined that all the people in the photograph are Iraqi interpreters, employed
by 1/7. By the way, the guy under the hood is one of the interpreters and they all
did the photo shoot voluntarily.

found two Marines named NOMMIM I think the one you're looking for is 1st Bn 7th Marine Regiment out of 29 Palms. His unit has been participating in deployments in Iraq. Here's a number at the unit, (760) 830-1538, in case your agent wants to call and find out if/when the LCpI was deployed. I didn't want to call and mess up anything you might have going. The other 1111111116111was with 3rd fssg and his name wasMINIMOOM The Marine Locator system was down so I couldn't get much more on him. He's in Oki and likely not uor guy. eve need some help trying to track down a young Marine. Tentatively we were provided the nameIlliMMIENDIJSMC, and we need to confirm if there is a Marine by this name, and if so where he is located. A Marine by that name was interviewed in an Army article, "Marines Hand Over Reins to Spanish, AN NAJAF, Iraq 24Sep03. In that article the marine was stated to be with lstBn 7thMARREG. We don't have an open case on this yet since this was referred to us by AFOSI on an information basis. This deals with this Marine 1111111bbeing in a picture with an EPVV that was put out on the internet. If you can come up with anything at all, thanks in advance.
