Last fall you provided a response to a Congressional-Question for -
the Record (QFR) re: our involvement with and knowledge of
detainee treatment. The responses to that set of QFRs have
been sitting at DOJ for the past several months. The Director
-reGently asked Eleni if we had updated our response re:
detainees, and I am trying to determine whether an update is
appropriate.
Beth Beers has informed me that late in 2004 we took a slightly'
revised look at the detainee issue. For example, we had o~iginally
said.1
. The entire response' to the QFR i,s attached. Could you please

review it and revise it as necessary? I don't think its clearance by'
DOJ iS'imminent, but Eleni would like to be able to tell the Director
pretty quickly whether we are in the process of rev[sing the
response.
Thanks for your continued help o'n this. -Someday it will actually
get submitted to the Hill, I promise.
