After explaining what my position, duties, and what the FBI detachment is responsible for at GTMO, I seated that I was unawereiof any abuse of detainees having occurred here I further advised that I had never heard of any credible rumors that such abuse had ever taken place I acknowledged that I was aware and had read the DoD policy on special interrogatioh techniques that DoD personnel may employ iniunique circumstances stated to the IG that it would be inappropnate for FBI or DOJ personnel to employ these methods as we do; not fall under DoD control and have other spe'cific guidelines which govern the conduct of:our:interviews The IG was advised!that, to the best of my knowledge, no FBI personnel had ever conducted or participated in 'an interview during which the DoD special techniques were utilized I explained to the team that FBI personnel do not use the Military Police, or any other organization tasked with safeguarding detainees, to facilitate or enhance our interviews At the close of the interview, I stated to the IG that I had never heard of any credible rumors regarding the mistreatment ofidetaindes, and I had nothing further that I thoUght would be of interest to the IG
Approximately one hour a fter the conclusion of the interview, I was asked to sign a summary of the above 'synopsis
