A response by an FBI official to another FBI official providing requested advice regarding alleged accusations of prisoner abuse being made against two FBI agents. The official clarifies that the two agents were not accused of prisoner abuse, but had contact with the prisoner who made the allegations of abuse. He also states that the Army should be forwarded whatever documents are requested about the agents, unless documentation exists that asserts the agents abused prisoners; in the latter case, said documentation is to be handed over.

Just to confirm our conversation and establish for the record: the fBI Agents involved have not been named as
SUbjects in this investigation, nor has there been any allegations against them directly. They are merely listed as
witnesses, as they had some sort of contact with the prisoner making the allegations of abuse, at some point
during his custody.
As such, we indicated to Army previously that they would be available for interviews, "if deemed appropriate by
Army CIO, and there should be no problem with turning over whatever documentation exists to include their 302s.
Thanks,

Steve,
Per you instructions this morning.llwill coordinate the requested interviews of FBI personnel.
We will not open an Internallnve~atroh matter case on them unless we receive some evidence
that they were involved in misconduct. We will stay on top of this , and if they situation changes, you
will be advised immediately.
UWe havecontacted at least one person in WFO who is more than willing to be interviewed and has forwarded us some documents concerning interviews conducted in Iraq.
