Email sender is an FBI official in Guantanamo. He notes that Pentagon was scheduled to repatriate four (4) detainees, three (3), (Afghans) and one (1) (Tajik) to their home countries in late October [2002], and that the same plane will return with ten (10) to thirty-four (34) new detainees. The email also states that [Major] General Dunlavey made a camp-wide announcement to Camp Delta that caused the camp to erupted in unrest with a threat of mass suicide, however no suicides took place, and the Camp "quickly settled down". The author also states that he and another person have been "heavily involved" with two (2) specific detainees, and "We have had a ton of input on how this Detainee is being worked". Finally there is a mention of a new FBI group (including 4 NYPD detectives) arriving in Guantanamo.

First impressions:
It is hot here.

The learning curve is verticle.
The more you read about Islam and our friends here the better off you will be once you get here.
Many different agendas here and you will have to use all of your behavioral skills to pull it all together and
keep your finger on the pulse... no one will lead you by the hand.
Did I mention that it Is hot herel?1

Hello to all,
b7C -1
Some quick information on what's going on here at Guantanamo Bay:
Last week, the decision finally came down (from the Pentagon) authorizing the repatriation of four (4) Detainees. General Dunleavey made a Camp Delta-wide speech, translated into Pashtu, Arabic, Urdu, etc., in which he made the announcement to all the Detainees. Three (3) Afghans and a Tajik were taken out of the Camp and are currently being held at another location. They will be taken back to their respective countries in late October and the same plane will return with between ten (10) to thirty-four (34)
new Detainees.
After the above activities, the Camp erupted in unrest and there was a threat of map suicide by the
Detainees. Needless to say, no suicides and thdCamp qUickly settled down. 4.•
Camp III opened yesterday (10/19/2002 - Saturday) and the movement of the Detainees to the new Camp will begin tomorrow (10/21/2002 - Monday). Prior to any Detainee movement, the MP's will do a mass sweep of all of the individual cell blocks.
Last week, SSA I {of FBIHQ's GTMO Task Force was here for three(3) days meeting with all the
