This email from the Executive Officer of the Army Director of Training focuses on preparing for the Schlesinger Panel's upcoming questioning concerning the pre-deployment training given to military police companies before touring through Iraq, specifically the 800th MP Brigade and the Military Intelligence (MI) Brigade. The email states that "I would submit that the panel, and our responses, will likely focus on the specific training of the 800th MP Brigade and the MI Brigade during Pre and Post Mobilization, to include an assessment of how well they performed during this training."

Here is the original tasking that came through channels concerning the Schlesinger Panel. The panel is scheduled to meet in early June. Our tasking is simply to conduct a mission analysis of the attached memo to identify specified and implied tasks in preparation for questions when the panel is in session. These questions will likely be very short-fused and time sensitive.
The first page outlines "training of regular and reserve personnel," as the only real specified task. As I read the focus of the panel and the underlying intent, I would submit that the panel, and our responses, will likely focus on the specific training of the 800th MP Brigade and the MI Brigade during Pre and Post Mobilization, to include an assessment of how well they performed during this training. It would be impossible to anticipate every question the panel may send in our direction, however, the previous outline should gather the salient points of interest necessary to accurately respond to the pane in a timely manner.
If you have additional questions please feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
LTC, EN
