Purpose: To exchange views on key humanitarian issues
relating to detainees in the war against
terrorism and the conflict in Iraq.
Key objectives are:
•
discuss ICRC's ongoing concerns about the
treatment of detainees in Afghanistan and in
Guantanamo;
•
discuss threats to the security of humanitarian
workers, especially in Iraq and Afghanistan;
•
discuss next steps in ongoing effort to enable
the Magen David Adom Society of Israel to join
the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement.
