reported that after they were detained they were both pushed off of a bridge into a river and
Mr. FADHIL apparently drowned.

FADHlL had injmies to his head and facial area caused by unknown means. , ofthe h~remains have not yet been collected by USACIDC to confirm the identity ofthe human remBins in relation to Mr. FADHIL .

Mr._ said they departed the checkpoint and about 2 or 3 kilometers away they appro.aclied an ' oncoming American convoy. He said.rieans stopped their vehicle and iIistructed them

According to Mr. their vehicle was searched, they were personally searched ~dthen they were handcuffi and-placed inilofa military vehicle, later identified as a B~leYFighting Vehicle (BFV). Mr. stated they Were never informed why they Were being detained but were released before vehicle drove away. He said they got back into their vehicle and drove about 20 meters, when the·same soldiers once again stopped them, handcuffed them agaiiI and placed them in the back ofthe BFV. Mr._ indicated the BFV drove away and about 15 minutes later it stopped and they were ordered to exit the vehicle, and once he got out ofthe vehicie he could see the lightS form the ICDC check point 8nd they were un-cufred and instructed to stand near the bridge. Mr. _ stated once they stood near the bridge, the soldiers instructed them to jump offofit ~they did not a soldier approached MR. Additional investigative activities resulted in·the identification oftbe soldiers involved in this· ... incident This was accomplished by obtaining historical data ofp3rticular uints and their mission for that particular date and location. As a result ofthis investigative activity, the particular soldiers involved were interviewed and all denied any wrongdoing pertaining to this investigation. .
