PVT platoon encountered approximately 5 security guards with weapons that were performing security on the warehouse. The platoon entered the building and secured the warehouse facility. Upon completion of detention, the security guards were escorted outside to a more secure environment according to Standard Operating Procedure (SOP). While outside the guards were ordered to take a knee or sit down and be quiet. One security guard began to get loud and aggressive in Arabic and came to his feet. While caning to his feet in an aggressive manner, with his hands behind his head, the detainee spit on PVT . It was reported that PVT reacted with a right back hand strike to the top of the guards head. blua&5 bleb 6-6 dol About 1330, 3 Ju 04 Si' conducted a witness interview of SF who related he witnessed P strike a detainee upon the head with a right back hand. He related he did not think P intended to abuse the detainee but reacted to the aggression of the detainee. (See Sworn Statement for details) /75 About 1035, 7 Jun 04, SA advised PFC of his rights which he waived and subsequently rendered a sworn statement detailing the events which caused him to shove the detainee.
