About 1320, 5 Oct 04, SA briefed CPT Commander, C Co, 1/5th CAV, FOB BONZAI, Baghdad, Iraq, on all aspects of this investigation. CPT related he was not in command of C Co (took command in May 04), during the time of the alleged incident, and CPTOMINIMNI (NFI), was the commander at the time. CPT
stated the allegation of abuse was not consistent with how residences are searched as his unit follows Army doctrine, which dictates an entire squad enters a residence, not two soldiers and an interpreter. CPT also stated when his soldiers are in a residence the individuals in the residence are never left alone. They are all consolidated in to one room and guarded by at least by one soldier the entire time his soldiers are in the residence conducting searches.
