This document is the CIA's copy of the sworn statement of an anonymous military personnel from the 1st Battalion 5th Special Forces Group, which is included in CID Report 0027-03-CID679-64999 released by the DOD. The CIA version contains different redactions than the DOD version. The interviewee describes what he/she saw of the interrogation of General Mowhoush at the Al Qaim detention facility in Iraq. A significant portion of the interview text, including the names of related officials, have been redacted.

AI Qaim, Iraq in September 03. The unit arrived in arrived in the AI Qaim, Iraq area somtime during the third week of Oct 03.
About the 0900 brs, 24 Noverober 2003, myself along witi! a split team from Operational Detachnient Alpha (ODA) 531, and
members of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) departed our b!'Se in AI Qaim. We arrived at the 3"' Armored Calvary
Regiment (ACR) detention facility for Operation Rifle Blitz at about 0930. From 0930 uolil about 1530 hrs, I conducted field
interrogations of Iraqi detainees. About 1530 brs, our group started to get ready to depart the facility. when I walked by one of the
interrogation rooms. In the interrogation room I saw General (Gen) MOWHOUSSH being interrogated by several3"' ~CR
interrogators. From the interrooators I Rot the sense the the interrooation of Gcn MOWHOUSH was not ooin• well the General

The next time I saw the General was one to two days later. Wbile working at the detention facility on 25 Nov 03, I observed the
General doing light exercise inside the detain~e holding area. That was last time I saw Gen MOWHOUSH.

A: I was told by someone in the 3"' ACR detention facility, I don't remember the name, on 26 Nov 03, when I arrivved ·that day
toconduct more interrogations. I was told he had collapsed in one of interrogation rooms while during an interrogation. The body hsd
already been moved by the time I arrived there. ·
