INJURIES RECEIVED BY THE DETAINEE AFTER CAPTURE. SSGT
RECEIVED A LIST OF QUESTIONS FROM CID PERSONNEL. THE QUESTIONS
RECEIVED ARE OUTLINED IN PARAGRAPH 2.

SPECIFIC QUESTIONS.

A. HOW WERE YOU INJURED? SOURCE'S FINGERS WERE INJURED
INITIALLY UPON CAPTURE BY THE AFGHANI FORCES (FIELD COMMENT ­HIS FINGERS WERE TAPED TOGETHER WITH HIS HANDS BEHIND HIS BACK).
THE REMAINDER OF THE INJURIES WERE RECEIVED FROM BEING HIT
REPEATEDLY IN THE FACE AND HEAD AREA WHEN TURNED OVER TO US

FORCES.

B. WHAT CAUSED THE INJURIES? (PERSON WEAPON OR INSTRUMENT) ­FISTS.

WHO INJURED YOU? DESCRIBE - WOULD YOU RECOGNIZE THEM IF
SEEN AGAIN? DOES NOT KNOW THE NAMES OF THE PEOPLE, DID OVER
HEAR THEM TALKING AMONGST THEMSELVES IN ENGLISH. SOURCE DID SEE
ONE OF THE PEOPLE WHO STRUCK HIM. HE IS DESCRIBED AS A BLACK
MALE, WEARING GOGGLES AND A HELMET, APPROXIMATELY 64 INCHES
TALL, WITH A STOCKY BUILD. SOURCE DOES NOT THINK THAT HE COULD
RECOGNIZE HIM IF SEEN AGAIN.

WHERE WERE YOU WHEN YOU WERE INJURED? WAS BEATEN
IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO BEING PUT ON THE HELICOPTER, WAS HIT
SEVERAL TIMES ON THE HELICOPTER, AND WAS HIT SEVERAL TIMES ON
THE GROUND AFTER ARRIVAL AT BAGRAM. (FIELD COMMENT - SOURCE
DOES NOT"KNOW WHERE HE CURRENTLY IS).

HOW MANY PEOPLE INFLICTED YOUR INJURIES? SOURCE BELIEVES
TWO.

G. WHEN DID YOU GET INJURED? (ON TIME LINE FROM TIME OF CAPTURE
TO ARRIVAL AT DETENTION FACILITY) BESIDES THE INJURIES TO HIS
FINGERS, SOURCE DID NOT RECEIVE ANY INJURIES IMMEDIATELY PRIOR
TO BEING PUT ON THE HELICOPTER. THE FIRST BEATING WAS PRIOR TO
BEING PUT ON THE HELICOPTER. THE BEATING CONTINUED ON THE
HELICOPTER AND AGAIN ON THE GROUND AT BAGRAM. SOURCE WAS ONLY
HIT TWO OR THREE TIMES DURING THE FLIGHT.

DID YOU RECEIVE ANY INJURIES FROM COMBAT PRIOR TO YOUR
CAPTURE? NO.

DESCRIBE THE EVENTS FROM TIME OF CAPTURE TO PLACEMENT IN
CELL. WAS ARRESTED NEAR HOME BY AFGHANI FORCES. WAS TAKEN TO
GARDEZ WHERE THEY STAYED IN A TENT FOR THE EVENING. THE NEXT
DAY WERE TURNED OVER TO US FORCES (THIS WAS WHEN FIRST STRUCK),
PUT INTO A HELICOPTER AND TAKEN TO DETAINMENT FACILITY. THE
BEATINGS OCCURRED ON THE HELICOPTER AND ON THE GROUND AT BAGRAM
ALSO. SOURCE WAS TURNED OVER TO ANOTHER GROUP HERE AT BAGRAM
AND THEN TAKEN IN TO THE FACILITY. SOURCE INDICATED BEATINGS
CEASED IMMEDIATELY PRIOR TO THE ARRIVAL OF THE NEW GROUP AT
BAGRAM, AND THEIR MOVEMENT TO THE DETENTION FACILITY.

DESCRIBE THE ACTUAL ASSAULT AND SPECIFICS OF IT (NUMBER OF
TIMES HIT, WHERE STUCK AND DURATION) WAS INITIALLY HIT SEVERAL
TIMES BEFORE GETTING INTO THE HELICOPTER. WAS SHOVED INTO THE
HELICOPTER, FELL, HIT SEVERAL OBJECTS IN THE HELICOPTER. WAS
SAT UP, AND DURING THE FLIGHT, WAS STRUCK SEVERAL TIMES IN THE
FACE AT INTERMITTENT INTERVALS. UPON ARRIVAL AT BAGRAM, WAS
THROWN FROM THE HELICOPTER AND WAS ESCORTED WITH ONE PERSON ON
EACH SIDE. THE PEOPLE PROVIDING ESCORT HELD HIM WITH ONE HAND
(ON HIS UPPER ARM) AND WOULD STRIKE HIM IN THE FACE AND HEAD

WITH THEIR OTHER HANDS. SOURCE INDICATED HE WAS TURNED OVER TO
ANOTHER GROUP, WHO DID NOT HIT HIM AT ANY TIME.

L.

WHAT HAPPENED UPON LANDING? WAS THROWN FROM THE HELICOPTER,
AND TRIED TO WALK, BUT WAS UNABLE TO KEEP UP THE PACE. WAS
STRUCK IN THE FACE SEVERAL TIMES DURING THE WALK. WHEN ARRIVING
AT THE PLACE WHERE TURNOVER WAS TO OCCUR, WAS PLACED PRONE ON
THE GROUND AND THEN HIS FACE WAS PUSHED INTO THE METAL GRATING
